RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY APPROVES ADDITIONAL 200 BILLION NAIRA TO COMPLETE INHERITED PROJECTS FROM FORMER GOVERNOR WIKE
Rivers State governor Siminalayi Fubara has disclosed that his administration secured an additional two hundred billion naira from the State house of assembly to expand the scope of development it inherited from former governor Nyesm Wike.
Governor Fubara who spoke at the flag-off of the internal road project in Elelenwo community, in Obio\Akpor local government area, as part of his activities to mark his hundred days in office said the 2023 budget that was inherited was about five hundred billion naira.
He stressed that the "because of the sensitive nature of projects that was nominated for the expansion and development of the state,they added the two hudndred billion naira to the budget of five hundred billion naira, totaling seven hundred billion naira.
The approval, he said has enabled his administration to begin the construction of the Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road project, which is a single largest project ever undertaken by any state government in the country.
Governor Fubara also stated that his administration will not stop at that project, as he maintained that they will go ahead to do more projects that will benefit not only indigenes of the state but residents.
